I am a video game center, how do I get involved?
It is FREE to sign up on our website. When you register you must select that you are a center wanting to participate in our multi-location events.
Once you sign up, our staff will contact you and verify that you are a good fit to participate in our events. Some common questions that we like
to know before we will allow you to participate are:
How many X-Box stations do you have at your center?
Are you registered with iGames?
What games are popular at your center?
Have you ran tournament events before?
You can send these answers to us at info@ggcircuit.com and it will help us in getting your center approved that much faster.
The only costs to you as a center will be determined based on each event you decide to participate in. The cost will vary based on the type of event and the level
of the event (open, semi-pro, and pro). If you are registered for an event, you must pay the center registration fee through paypal on our site. This can be done through
each event details page.
If you have not paid before the event any teams that have registered for the event at your center will not be allowed to participate.
Teams may pay us online for the event, but any team fee we receive through
PayPal will be sent back to you after the event is over.
Depending on the turnout of the event you will break even with the cost of each event with about 4 teams. Any teams over that mean revenue for your store. So if you promote
and run a successful event you will make money.
I am a player, how do I get involved?
As a player, it is also FREE to join our web site. When you register you must select that you are a player wanting to participate in our multi-location events. Once you register with our site
you can then register for any of our upcoming events. Depending on the event, various game centers will be involved. Hopefully you will be able to attend the event that is closest to you. Upon
successful registration for the event you may pay us online to reserve your spot for the tournament. You may also pay at the game center location you plan to play at.
Depending on the event, there may be single or multiple player events. If it is a multiple player event and you have registered your team, you must fill your team up with other registered gg Circuit
members. It is critical that before the event, your team has been filled because each team and each member of the team will be included in our points system and circuit statistics for each circuit and
can lead to qualifications for huge tournaments at the end of the year.
How do I get my local video game center involved?
This is a question that we get a lot. As a new video game circuit we are constantly seeking out
registered iGames centers that can meet our criteria to add to our ever
growing list. But we know that we will miss some from time to time. It would help us tremendously if you go to or know of a video game center close to you that you feel might be interested in our concept
and let them know all about us. Let them know that if they'd like to know more, they can send us an email at info@ggcircuit.com and we will reply within 24 hours
to get to know them and decide if they would be a good fit in our circuit.
What does it cost?
For both centers and players it is FREE to join our site. There are no obligations. Both centers and players will pay a fee
for each event they want to participate in. Currently, for players that is as
low as $15, and for centers as low as $50. Fees for both players and centers
will vary based on the number of players per team, and the level of the event
(Open, Semi-Pro, or Pro).
Centers must pay their registration fee to us through PayPal within each event
detail page. Players can pay us online through Paypal or can pay at the video
game center they plan to attend. Any team fee we receive through PayPal goes
back to the respective center when the event is over.
What is the criteria to be involved in Pro, Semi-Pro, and Open events?
We have created three differenct divisions to create a variety of competition levels and allow more players to be involved and return for more tournaments based on their skill level. Below are descriptions of each gg Circuit division.
Pro Division
Who can participate? Anyone can participate in Pro events however the top spots are automatically reserved for teams who have already earned ggCircuit Pro status.
How do you earn Pro status? ggCircuit Pro status is earned by the top teams in previous Pro and Semi-Pro events.
Other Pro Division notes:
- Pro events will feature the top payouts for the entire circuit.
- Pro events will cost $20 per player to participate. This goes for any type of event designated as a Pro event.
- Pro events will almost always be 2 day events with locals on Saturday and national finals on Sunday.
Semi-Pro Division
Who can participate? This is different for single player and doubles or other team events. For single player events anyone who DOES NOT currently have ggCircuit Pro status may play in Semi-Pro singles events. This would apply to events like Madden 09 or Rock Band. For team events no more than half of the team may contain Pro status players.
How do you earn Semi-Pro status? Teams who finish in the money positions for Open events earn Semi-Pro status. Also any teams finishing in the money slots of a semi-pro event will obtain Pro status. This forces the teams who are of higher quality to advance to the higher divisions.
Other Semi-Pro Division notes:
- Semi-Pro events will feature the second highest payouts for the entire circuit. These will still be large payouts however players will be more than enticed to play at maximum potential to reach the Pro division. An example for Gears 2 is the difference between a $10,000 invitational finals for the Pro division at the end of the season versus a $2,500 Semi-pro finals at the same time.
- Semi-Pro events will cost $15 per player to participate. This goes for any type of event designated as Semi-Pro.
- Semi-Pro events will be a mixture of one day events online with some 2 day events for the bigger team games.
Open Division
Who can participate? Once again this is different for single player and team events. For single player events anyone who has earned either Semi-Pro or Pro status may not participate in Open events. For Doubles events one player on your team may have Semi-Pro status but no players may have Pro status. For events with teams of 4 you may have a maximum of one Pro player and one Semi-Pro player on your team OR you may have two Semi-Pro players on your team.
How do you earn Open status? This is pretty self explanatory but all players are designated as regular (Open) players unless they have earned Semi-Pro or Pro status.
Other Open Division notes:
- These events will have the lowest payouts of the three divisions but there will still be sizable prize pools. There are no national finals for open events.
- Open events will feature more casual game types. This is where you will see FFA style games for example in FPS titles.
- Open events will cost $10 per player to participate. This goes for any type of event designated as Open.
- Open events will usually take place in a single day and will probably take place entirely online.
