The gg Circuit was started in 2008 as an organization for developing professional tournaments at regional video game centers (also known as LAN centers) throughout the United States. By using regional video game centers the circuit allows gamers to participate in large tournaments without the travel expense of the current national tours. These events also assure the quality of the tournaments since players MUST participate at a qualified gg Circuit center. Players do not have to worry about the problems that come with standard online tournaments such as players bridging, modding or playing on poor internet connections.
The commissioner of gg Circuit, Zack Johnson, founded the company in the summer
of 2008 to fill the need for a progressive tournament system within video game
centers. He is also the founder of the eBash Video Game Center chain and he has
experienced first-hand the demand of gamers for professionally ran tournaments
at the local levels in communities all throughout the United States.
Zack's long-standing tournament resume is perhaps the top in the industry. He has
developed, produced, promoted and ran hundreds of tournaments over the past 5
years. He has worked with MLG as an admin in their tour. He has also ran local
and regional events for the WCG and attended the national tournament with Need
for Speed finalist Kyle McCormick in 2005. Zack worked as the head console admin
for the World Series of Video Games. Currently he is heavily involved with
iGames and the Gamer's Tour and continues to build the eBash Video Game Center
franchise and stores.
The gg in our name stands for the common acronym used throughout the industry to
indicate "good game". Our mission is to have our events professionally ran and
for all players to participate with sportsmanship expected in standard
competitions. We want to break the mold of the current trash talking gamers
found online and at other national events and provide more sponsors with a
positive experience and customer base.
